About FMMS

THE 4-8 EXPERIENCE

The Fort Madison Community School District is proud to be able to offer a 4-8 Middle School experience to our students. The 4-8 program is unique in that students get to come back to the same building for five years, but experience a whole new atmosphere catered to their developmental needs. Grades are separated by different wings of the building.

Only at school-wide functions and assemblies do students find themselves with kids of all ages. This separation helps students to develop relationships with peers their own age, learn based on their development needs, and transition with ease.
